Dr Maria Zalazar – Perimenopause & Post-menopause Guidance for Long-Term Health
Menopause and medical aesthetics revealing deeper drivers of women’s health
Dr María Zalazar, Founder and Medical Director of MZ Medical, introduces the vision behind the platform and its evidence-based approach to women’s midlife health.
Clinical Insights from Medical Aesthetics to Menopause Care
Years in advanced medical aesthetics revealed deeper biological patterns in women’s health long before menopause was formally recognised.
Are you wondering if hormone therapy is safe? When should you start — or whether you need it at all? Should you wait until your periods stop? Do you need blood tests?
Could fatigue, anxiety, hair loss, weight gain, sleep problems or mood changes — or even stalled professional progression — be linked to perimenopause or postmenopause?
In advanced medical aesthetics, consultations often last longer and occur regularly over years. This continuity allows physicians to observe patterns rarely captured in brief medical visits. Skin dryness, facial bone loss and mid-face fat redistribution often appear long before menopause is clinically recognised.
Many women also show difficulties with concentration, memory and decision-making that can affect professional development, particularly among women in demanding roles or leadership positions.
These observations revealed that aesthetic concerns were often the visible expression of deeper biological changes.
I am a M D with a background in Sport Science and Nutrition, and postgraduate training in menopause, gynaecology, genetics and advanced medical aesthetics, including surgical techniques. Through years of clinical practice, these disciplines converged to broaden the understanding of women’s health.
MZ Medical was created to translate these clinical insights into evidence-based women’s health support.
You are not alone. Many women spend years in trial and error, wasting time, energy and money searching for clarity. That ends here.

Beyond Medical Aesthetics & Menopause
I’m passionate about women’s health education, evidence-based living, and making science easy to understand. Outside of my medical work, I enjoy reading, playing tennis, and anything that keeps us active and connected.
I believe true wellbeing combines a healthy mind and body — with purpose, joy, and meaningful relationships.
